Century Motorsport's Dan Harper and Darren Leung topped the opening Free Practice session of the Intelligent Money British GT Championship season opener at Oulton Park this morning.

Harper set the top time, a 1m.32.697s, early on in the running in the #91 BMW M4 GT3 and ended the session only 0.005s ahead of their nearest rival, the Ian Loggie and Jules Gounon partnership driving the #1 Mercedes-AMG at 2 Seas Motorsport.

The #78 Barwell Motorsport Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo, driven by Shaun Balfe and Sandy Mitchell, was a tenth further back in third in the tight session where the top ten was covered by less than a second. They were ahead of Alex West and Marvin Kirchhöfer whose Garage 59 run #88 McLaren 720S GT3 made it four manufacturers in the top four. The #4 2 Seas Motorsport Mercedes-AMG, at the hands of James Cottingham and Jonny Adam, rounded out the top five.

The top GT4 time came from Josh Rowledge and Aston Millar in the #36 DTO Motorsport McLaren Artura who set a 1m.41.265s lap. That put them 0.190s ahead of the #23 R Racing Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 of Josh Miller and Seb Hopkins.

Early on in the session there was lengthy red flag period following contact between the #77 Enduro Motorsport McLaren 720S GT3 driven by Morgan Tillbrook and Marcus Clutton and the #22 Century Motorsport BMW M4 GT4 of Carl Cavers and Lewis Plato. The two cars, with Clutton and Cavers at the wheel came together at Shell Oils Corner. Eventually, the McLaren returned to the pits but the BMW was unable to.
