Simon Orange set the fastest time during the opening session of the British GT Championship weekend here at Oulton Park. His effort of a 1m32.502s on the full international circuit was more than three tenths quicker than his nearest rival.
The Briton was one of only three drivers to register a time in the 1m32s, with his Orange Racing by JMH car, shared with Marcus Clutton, finding a slight edge over the Barwell Motorsport Lamborghini manned by Rob Collard and Hugo Cook, and the Optimum Motorsport McLaren of Ben Barnicoat and Morgan Tillbrook.
Jarrod Waberksi led another Barwell Motorsport Lamborghini to the top four in the entry he shares with Alex Martin. Century Motorsport’s Jonathon Beeson managed fifth in his BMW M4 GT3, which he shares with Charles Clark.
Ben Green made it four marques in the top six in his 2 Seas Motorsport Mercedes-AMG, co-driven by Kevin Tse. Optimum Motorsport’s Marc Warren and Jack Brown were less than half a tenth behind them in seventh.
Rounding out the top-10 was the Beechdean Motorsport Ltd car driven by Andrew Howard and Ross Gunn, Cameron Campbell and Joshua Buchan for Rodin Motorsport, and Mark Smith and Martin Plowman for Paddock Motorsport.
Daniel Lavery and Darren Turner were the fastest of the GT4 drivers, leading their Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 Evo to a time of 1m41.517s for Grange Racing with FSR.
