The Oulton Park Gold Cup returns to its traditional August bank holiday date this weekend (29-31 August) and there is still time to save on tickets. Discounted admission is available until 4pm on Thursday with FREE entry for under-13s – click here to book now.

Three days of glorious motorsport nostalgia are planned, including a full programme on the bank holiday Monday. Classics will feature as part of a retro line-up curated by the Historic Sports Car Club. HSCC highlights include the Derek Bell Trophy for powerful 1970s open-wheel race cars, plus Historic Formula 3, and the Thundersports and Guards Trophy events for retro GT and sports-racing cars.

A number of special guest classes will feature, including the Historic Grand Prix Cars Association, for classically-modelled 1960s F1 machines. These cars will race for the headline Historic Gold Cup itself, which will be awarded on the bank holiday Monday. The programme also includes a grid from the Classic Sports Car Club and the 500 Owners Association, while the Vintage Sports-Car Club returns the Vintage and Historic Seaman Trophies for pre-war Grand Prix cars to the venue. 

Special themes this year include marking the centenary of Sir Jack Brabham's birth, with a special display and Q&A with his son, David, on the Monday. There will also be a Can-Am showcase, featuring classic North American sports cars, while Sunday will see another running of the Cheshire Concours.

This is all in addition to the event acting as a key social occasion, with extensive car displays, market stalls, and an official presence from The Jim Clark Trust which will host a special Lotus Cortina celebration. There will be a historic exhibition too, along with countless other themed activities.
