British GT Pre-Qualifying: Muller and Jones move to the top at Oulton Park

24 May 2025

Porsche machinery moved to the top of the British GT Championship order at Oulton Park this afternoon, with Sven Muller leading the way at the wheel of Team Parker Racing’s 911 GT3 R in the pre-qualifying session.

Muller’s time of 1m32.769s was the fastest of the event so far, the best part of a second clear of the leading time in the earlier practice period. This placed the machine he shares with Nick Jones almost three tenths clear of the rest on the International circuit.

Sandy Mitchell was the closest rival to Muller’s pace, at the wheel of a Barwell Motorsport Lamborghini shared with Alex Martin. The father and son pairing of Richard and Sam Neary were next up in the Team Abba Racing Mercedes-AMG, as they made their first visit to the top-10 of the weekend.

Another Mercedes-AMG was fourth, with Maximilian Götz setting the best time in the 2 Seas Motorsport entry he co-pilots with Kevin Tse. The second Barwell Lamborghini then rounded out the top-five with Hugo Cook at the wheel of the car he’s been sharing with Rob Collard.

The top-10 was then rounded out by a group of the grid’s many McLarens, with Mike Price and Callum Macleod’s Optimum Motorsport example the best of these in seventh. The Simon Orange and Marcus Clutton McLaren was eighth ahead of Greystone’s car driven by Oliver Webb and Andre Borodin.

Morgan Tillbrook and Marvin Kirchhöfer completed the top-10 in the second Optimum car, the same McLaren which topped the morning practice session.
