Marvin Kirchhöfer set the fastest time of the first British GT Championship session at Oulton Park this morning, leading the practice times with an effort of 1m33.571s on the full International circuit.

The German’s best time was enough to put the Optimum Motorsport McLaren he shares with Morgan Tillbrook top of the order by less than a tenth of a second. That next best car was the Blackthorn Aston Martin of Giacomo Petrobelli and Jonny Adam with the latter at the wheel for its best effort.

Barwell Motorsport’s Lamborghini made it three different manufactures in the top-three spots, with Hugo Cook lapping just over two tenths off Kirchhöfer in the entry he co-pilots with Rob Collard. The following trio of cars all came from one marque however, with Mike Price and Callum Macleod in the second of the Optimum McLaren’s leading a trio from the British manufacturer.

Oliver Webb was fifth quickest in the Greystone GT car he shares with Andrey Borodin with Marcus Clutton securing sixth for himself and Simon Orange. Another Barwell Lamborghini was seventh courtesy of Sandy Mitchell, co-driver to Alex Martin, whilst Sven Muller put the Team Parker Racing Porsche eighth for himself and Nick Jones.

The top-10 was completed by yet another McLaren, the Paddock Motorsport machine of Martin Plowman and Mark Smith, just ahead of Luke Garlick and Chung Cheong Ip in the grid’s one and only Honda NSX.
