New Bennetts BSB season set for Oulton Park blast off this weekend

28 April 2025

The wait is over! The 2025 Bennetts British Superbike Championship season gets underway at Oulton Park this Bank Holiday weekend (3-5 May), with the country’s top two wheel racers set to deliver stunning action around the picturesque Cheshire venue.

With the barely believable 2024 title battle between Kyle Ryde and Tommy Bridewell still fresh in the memory, all the signs point towards more of the same this year, with reigning champion Ryde occupying the number one OMG Nitrous Competitions Racing Yamaha, and 2023 champion Bridewell remaining with Honda Racing UK.

Perennial title contender Glenn Irwin should be right in the mix too on the Hager PBM Ducati, while previous champions Josh Brookes (DAO Racing Honda) and Leon Haslam (Moto Rapido Ducati Racing) can never be discounted.

This year also features the highly anticipated return of 2022 champion Bradley Ray, with the Raceways Yamaha squad which also makes a series comeback in 2025. They’re a potent combination too, after topping the final day of pre-season testing at the circuit last week.

Fresh off the back of his first Bennetts BSB win last year, Danny Kent should also be in the fight this year aboard the McAMS Racing Yamaha, as should Cheshire Mouldings Ducati’s Rory Skinner.

Race winners Christian Iddon (AJN Steelstock Kawasaki), Lee Jackson (DAO Racing Honda), Peter Hickman (8TEN Racing BMW) and Andrew Irwin (Honda Racing UK) are also back for more.

Of course there’s a batch of young battlers all out to knock the established heroes off their perch. Race winner Storm Stacey (Bathams AJN Racing BMW) has become an instant paddock favourite while Pirelli National Superstock front-runner Scott Swann steps up to BSB this year on the Send My Bag Honda by IWR machine. Davey Todd is another fan favourite and joins Hickman at the new 8TEN Racing squad.

Three Bennetts BSB races are the main highlight, with the first race of the season coming on Sunday afternoon with two more following on Bank Holiday Monday.

There’s a packed support race programme too, with further racing from the Quattro Group British Supersport, Pirelli National Superstock, Pirelli National Sportbike, AJN Steelstock Kawasaki British Superteen and ROKiT Off BMW F 900 R Cup.

Tickets for the opening round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Oulton Park on 3-5 April are available in advance with full weekend and individual day options, with reductions for 13-15-year-olds and FREE entry for under-13s. For more information and to book now, click here.
