Sensational Gold Cup set to stun this July

12 July 2023

The Historic Gold Cup returns to Oulton Park on 28-30 July with arguably its strongest-ever line-up, with a dazzling selection of motor racing championships and a comprehensive programme of off-track entertainment. Tickets for either Saturday or Sunday are available online for £25, with free admission for under 13s. For more information and to book, click here.

The Gold Cup is the Cheshire circuit’s signature event, and last year it received nominations from both the prestigious Royal Automobile Club Historic Awards and the Historic Motoring Awards presented by Octane. The 2023 edition will build on that success and be better still!

HISTORIC F1 CARS HEADLINE CIRCUIT ACTION

On-track entertainment at this summer's event will be overseen by the Historic Sports Car Club (HSCC), with race content from many of Europe’s leading historic motorsport organisers, including the HSCC itself. Grids will also be provided by the Formula Junior Historic Racing Association, Classic Sports Car Club, Vintage Sports Car Club, Historic Racing Drivers Club and Motor Racing Legends.

This year’s “Gold Cup Race” is organised by the Historic Grand Prix Cars Association (HGPCA), with a sublime entry of classically-modelled single-seater machines from the pre-slicks-and-wings era of the sport.

2023 GOLD CUP TO CELEBRATE JIM CLARK

The event will feature a special celebration of two-time Grand Prix World Champion Jim Clark, twice a winner of the Gold Cup. That second win took place 60 years ago – the same season Clark claimed his maiden F1 title. The celebration is being run in association with the Jim Clark Trust - for more information click here.

MAJOR CLASSIC CAR DISPLAY ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY

Classic and vintage car clubs from around the country will make their way to Oulton Park to display their magnificent machinery. For details on how to apply please click here. For a list of car clubs already confirmed click here.

In addition, a Youngtimers display will take place across Saturday and Sunday, with the annual Cheshire Concours d'Esprit taking place on the Sunday too.
