This Saturday the CSCC will be hosting a raceday at Oulton Park, with several of their own series set to star.
The final round of the CSCC calendar should prove full of action even as the autumn light fades. All races are 40 minutes in length with a pit stop, except for the awesome CSCC Special Saloons and Modsports who have twin 15 minute races. The day ends with a CSCC Meteor Motorsport Open Series race that is scheduled to finish after sunset which could be spectacular. Other series in action are the CSCC Tin Tops (Hot Hatchbacks), New Millennium (post year 2000 cars), Modern Classics (1990s), Gold Arts Magnificent Sevens (Caterham types) and the Adams & Page Swinging 60s series (for 1950s and 1960s models).
The paddock will also be open, allowing spectators to get closer to the cars in race preparation as well as meet the teams and drivers.ADVANCE BOOKING HAS NOW CLOSED. TICKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE AT THE GATE.
Special SaloonsThis category is for outrageously modified tin tops. Originally popular in the 1970s, these machines frequently feature space-frame chassis and have little in common with their road going counterparts.
Tin TopsThe tin tops series caters for everything from the Mini Cooper S to the Honda Civic Type-R. Normally aspirated hatch backs and saloons provide the perfect low cost stepping stone into the world of classic racing.
New MilleniumThe New Millennium series is designed for post year 2000 production based cars (and their racing variants) and for cars that are deemed to be 'in the spirit of the regulations', for example older cars running non-standard aero or sequential gearboxes
Modern ClassicsThis series is for powerful 90s machines, catering for both high capacity saloons and two-seater sportscars. Cars must be predominantly production based with treaded tyres.
Magnificent SevensCaterhams, Westfields, Lotus Sevens and any other similarly-shaped machines are eligible to compete in this lightweight battle. Winning drivers will have to start the subsequent race from the pits, setting up a possible charge from the back.
Swinging SixtiesJaguar E-types, Ford Mustangs and Aston Martins battle for track position in a series solely for 1960s machinery, recalling a golden era of sports and saloon car racing.
