BTCC Highlights:
Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship
Oulton Park (International)
Saturday 07 - Sunday 08 June 2014

The British Touring Car Championship is the UK's premier four wheeled motorsport series, famed for its close racing, unpredictable results and inevitable contact between its hard charging drivers.

There's an even bigger buzz than usual about the 2014 season, with BTCC legends Alain Menu and Fabrizio Giovanardi both confirming returns to the championship. They join fellow title-winners Matt Neal, Jason Plato, Colin Turkington and Gordon Shedden on the grid, all of them aiming to topple reigning champion Andrew Jordan.

Jordan leads the way in the title race after the first three rounds at Brands Hatch, Donington Park and Thruxton, holding a slender eight point lead over Gordon Shedden. The racing this year has been a big talking point with five different winners already this year from nine races, and race results decided by the smallest margins, with all the usual bumps and bangs thrown in for good measure!

The round at Oulton Park is one of the most popular on the calendar, renowned for massive crowds, intense racing and a carnival atmosphere on the series' only visit to the north west. This year the drivers will return to the longer International layout, last used during the Supertouring years. To celebrate, the support bill includes a round of the new Super Touring Trophy. John Cleland and Patrick Watts are expected to be on the grid in a Vectra and Peugeot 406 respectively!

As well as three races from the BTCC and two Super Touring Trophy encounters, there will be support from the Ginetta GT Supercup, Renault Clio Cup, Formula Ford, and the young chargers of the Ginetta Junior Championship.

British Touring Car Championship

Personalities and bodywork collide in Britain's premier car racing series. Manufacturers such as Honda, Infiniti, Ford, and BMW are represented on a grid of more than thirty cars.

Super Touring Cars

Recalling the BTCC's greatest era, the 1990s, when manufacturers employed the best drivers in the world. Hondas, Nissans, Vauxhalls, BMWs and Peugeots from tin top racing's halcyon days will all feature. Expect to see a few famous names on the grid.

Ginetta Junior Championship

A series for young chargers aged 14 to 17 to hone their driving style. Former competitors have graduated to GT racing, BRDC Formula 4 and other series on the Touring Car Package.

Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain

A traditional proving ground for young drivers hoping to make a name for themselves in single seaters.

Michelin Ginetta GT Supercup

These cars are very similar to those that can be found in the British GT Championship. As such this is a great place for an aspiring GT racer to learn his craft in front of the huge crowds that support the BTCC.

Renault UK Clio Cup

This series is, in a word, 'intense'! The drivers are evenly matched and the cars identical - the result is some of the most exciting racing on the BTCC support bill!
