Saturday 12 April 2014

The British Racing & Sports Car Club was formed in 1946 and has been one of the most influential clubs & main driving forces in domestic motor racing ever since.

This event is headlined by the Fun Cup endurance series for VW Beetle-style silhouette racers. Also featured is superb action from the incredibly close contests of Formula Ford and XR saloons and hatchbacks. The Formula Ford Northern Championships for Kent-engined cars race in pre-90 and post-89 guises, whilst the 80s XR brand of hot Fords should provide great tin top racing.

Make sure you visit Oulton Park's friendly paddock, where you can chat to the drivers as they prepare for battle!

Fun Cup Championship

Fun Cup machines are powered by 1800cc, 130bhp VW petrol engines. Other than their basic facade, these silhouette beasts have very little in common with the Beetles they so closely resemble.

Avon Tyres Formula Ford 1600 Northern Championship

The cars in this category are traditional Formula Ford machines, powered by the famous 1600cc Kent engine and there are different classes for cars built before and after 1990.

BRSCC Ford XR Challenge

A one make saloon championships for the Ford brand. Entries are comprised primarily from Fiesta XR2s with a class for Escort XR3is running alongside. All cars must run to production Group N regulations, keeping costs low and the playing field level.
